常規單詞積累一定要集中在2016考研英語復習的前期，否則后面無論閱讀復習還是翻譯復習的開展都會有困難。同時，考研英語單詞記憶不能只記中文釋義，要掌握其常見用法，固定搭配，并且在能力范圍內利用詞根觸類旁通。

★ commodity

n.(pl.)日用品;商品;農/礦產品;有用之物

【例1】A person, like a commodity, needs packaging; But going too far is absolutely undesirable.人如商品要包裝，但切忌過分包裝。

【例2】Time is our most valuable commodity.時間是最有價值之物。

【同義替換】article, product, ware

★ communicate

v.傳達，傳送;交流;通訊，通話

【例】The engineer in particular must be able to communicate his ideas to others rapidly and accurately.工程技術人員尤其必須能夠迅速而準確地將自己的想法傳達給別人。

【同義替換】convey, transmit, tell

【派生】communication n.交流，傳遞 communicative a.交流的 communicator n.傳播者

★ comprise

v.包含，包括，由……組成;構成，組成

【例1】Mental acts comprise thinking, planning, devising.思想活動包括思考、計劃與設計。

【例2】A year is comprised of the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter.一年由春夏秋冬四季組成。

【構詞】com-(一起)+pris(=take，抓)+e→一起抓→包含

【同義替換】consist(of), include, (be)composed(of), constitute

★ compromise

n.妥協，折中

vi.妥協

v.危及;放棄(原則等)

【例1】After some discussion we arrive at a compromise.經過一番討論之后，我們達成一項折中方案。

【例2】They compromised with him on the issue.他們在這一問題上與他達成妥協。

【例3】He refused to compromise his principles.他拒絕放棄他的原則。

【構詞】com-(共同)+promise(保證)→相互保證→妥協

【派生】compromising a.妥協的，損害名譽的，有失體面的

【真題】The details may be unknowable, but the independence of standard-setters, essential to the proper functioning of capital markets, is being compromised.細節可能不為人知，但對于資產市場正常運行十分重要的標準定制者的獨立性卻已經被削弱了。

★ compulsory

a.必須做的，強制性的;(課程)必修的

【例】Education is compulsory for children in most countries.多數國家對兒童實施義務教育。

【構詞】com-(強調)+puls(=drive拖，拉)+-ory(形容詞后綴)→強制的

【同義替換】required, compelled, obligatory, forced

【派生】compulsion n.強制
