房斌，博士，重慶大學(xué)計算機(jī)學(xué)院教授，博導(dǎo)。重慶大學(xué)模式識別與信息處理研究所所長。1989年畢業(yè)于西安交通大學(xué)信息與控制工程系, 1994年在四川大學(xué)無線電系獲得碩士學(xué)位。2001年5月在香港大學(xué)電機(jī)與電子工程系獲得博士學(xué)位，專業(yè)方向模式識別。2001年9月至2003年12月作為博士后研究員在新加坡國立大學(xué)新加坡-美國麻省理工聯(lián)盟(Singapore-MIT Alliance)計算機(jī)科學(xué)組工作。2004年2月至2005年5月在香港浸會大學(xué)(HKBU)計算機(jī)系任助理教授（Assistant Professor）。主要研究方向為：模式識別，圖像處理，生物特征鑒定，生物醫(yī)學(xué)圖像分析，文本處理等。作為研究項目的負(fù)責(zé)人或主研人員完成了并正在承擔(dān)多項基金項目和研究課題。擔(dān)任高等教育出版社出版，Springer全球發(fā)行的英文期刊《Frontiers of Computer Sciecne in China》編委(Editor)。擔(dān)任國際IEEE學(xué)會香港智能計算分會委員會秘書（2004-2006）。擔(dān)任眾多國際學(xué)術(shù)會議程序委員會成員。是國際上模式識別研究領(lǐng)域一流期刊 IEEE Trans.PAMI, IEEE Trans. IP, IEEE Tran. MI, IEEE Trans. BME, IEEE Trans. SMC, Pattern Recognition, International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence等的特約審稿人。
長期從事模式識別及圖像處理等領(lǐng)域的科學(xué)研究，取得了一系列高創(chuàng)新性，具有國際先進(jìn)水平的研究成果。特別是因在科學(xué)技術(shù)進(jìn)步工作中作出了重大貢獻(xiàn)而榮獲2005年教育部提名國家自然科學(xué)獎一等獎。 著作及論文 發(fā)表論文50余篇，其中SCI檢索二十多篇，EI檢索二十多篇。在國際著名的本領(lǐng)域頂級期刊IEEE Transactions BME，IEEE Transactions SMC，IEEE Transactions NB， Pattern Recognition， International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence等上發(fā)表近十篇高水平的研究論文。 部分SCI及EI檢索論文 [1] Bin Fang, etc, “Wavelet Thinning Algorithm Based Similarity Evaluation for Off-line Signature Verification,” Lecture Notes in Control and Information Sciecne, vol. 345, pp.547-555, 2006.
